This is exactly what it says it is, a filter for Hoover Empower Vaccuums. Amazon is great for this sort of thing since there are a zillion vaccuums, and the store that sold it to you will never stock the filters. Priced at a fraction of the cost of a genuine Hoover filter, this item outperforms and original. And it is, indeed, washable. Just a minute or so under the tap and it's clean as a whistle. Let it air dry, reinsert into the cleaner, and you're ready to go again. The ability to thoroughly clean the filter increases the cleaner's suction and improves its performance. And you save money, too. So what's not to like.

This Hoover WindTunnel Upright Type Y Vacuum Bags Microfiltration with Closure bags were a fantastic value. They also have the hepa filtration system which is what we need for our allergies. The bags themselves were very well designed. Nice and thick with a band at the bottom that made it fit into the vacuum better. Also includes a sticky tab to close up the bag once it is filled. Excellent product that I would recommend. 

This Hoover WindTunnel Upright Type Y Vacuum Bags Microfiltration with Closure is the best bag I have found for using with the Hoover Tempo Widepath Upright Vacuum, Bagged, U5140-900. They fit perfectly and hold everything inside no matter how small the particles.

There is a white sticker type flap on each bag that you can use to tape over the opening after you have filled it up. This will prevent any dust/dirt from escaping out in a plume if it's just tossed into a trash can and someone tries to compact/squish down the garbage. It's forgiving when it comes to being overfilled as well. It keeps packing it in even if it's filled to the top.

Good basic vacuum bags at an affordable price.

Previous to owning Hoover Windtunnel MAX Bagged Upright - UH30600, we have two other Hoover vacuums in the house. One was one of the first "bagless" hoover windtunnel models. I vowed that I would never own another "bagless" model and so when Hoover came out with this windtunnel "bag" model, I was desperate to give it a whirl.

It is definitely manufactured with cost in mind. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:


1) It is much lighter than our previous model - not a bad thing.
2) The power suction is terrific and rivals or betters the heavier/older model.
3) The bag system is absolutely well thought out as you never have to touch the bag and it is a piece of cake to get to.
4) There is a mini-cleaner power attachment.
5) The hose is flexible and long enough.
6) There is a newer feature that only requires a foot pedal to switch from brushes rotating to turning off the brushes as you pass from one room to another. You can also use this to turn off the brushes while you use the attachments. Absolutely a winner of a concept.
Cons:


1) The electric cord is attached in a slightly awkward manner (at the bottom) so that while you are sweeping, it is difficult to find the cord as you have to bend down to keep grabbing it once you let go.
2) The attachments are adequate, but not as nice as the older version. The brush is circular and with very stiff bristles so that getting into the corners is more difficult.
3) There is no rug cleaning attachment without the bristles.
4) The extenders are shorter than the previous model, although they are connected so that you don't need to have two separate pieces.


Overall, I am very pleased with Hoover Windtunnel MAX Bagged Upright - UH30600 and for the money rate it a 5 star. It is not a Cadillac version, but it does not have that price tag either.
